Bristol Harbourside Pre-Shoot // Joe + Lauren

Bristol Harbourside Pre-Shoot // Joe + Lauren

Is everybody ready for autumn? I can't wait for all the leaves to turn and for pretty much any excuse to light the wood burner! Last time I caught up with Joe + Lauren, it was actually Spring, but the colours in the shoot still remind me of autumn with reds and mustards and is just what you need to brighten up a grey day! We met up locally to me at Bristol Habourside, got a coffee at Mokoko and strolled about having a bit of an explore.

Tomorrow I'll be heading up to Hereford for Joe and Lauren's big day and have a feeling this one is going to be an epic party!

Weston-super-mare Family Shoot // Kelly, Simon + Jackson

Weston-super-mare Family Shoot // Kelly, Simon + Jackson

On Saturday Kelly and Simon are going to be tying the knot! I've been looking forward to this wedding ever since they got in touch with me last year to tell me about their plans and venue. This one is going to be awesome. I can't wait!!

We last met up near when Kelly and Simon live with their son Jackson and had a bit of a scramble in what was once an old quarry site followed by a little walk around the boatyard and beach.  It was really good to meet the whole gang before the big day and gave us a good chance to get a few snaps of them as a family before catching up about everything.

Bath Pre-Shoot // Rebecca + Miles

Bath Pre-Shoot // Rebecca + Miles

My job is bloody brilliant. Some days I'll admit it's a bit lonely and a bit dull with hours spent in front of a computer with just the cat to chat to, but on the other hand I get to meet some of the loveliest human beings. I can get to know them, hang out, have a good chat about life with them and all in the name of 'work'. It's especially good if it also manages to involve the sunshine and a pub garden (ticks all the boxes!).

I met up with Rebecca and Miles ahead of their wedding a few weeks ago and did just that. We went for a walk near where Rebecca grew up in Bath, nearly got run over by an angry cyclist and then put the world to rights in a pub along the canal. A good day indeed.

I can't wait to see these legends tie the knot tomorrow. If you're lucky guys I'll find some more flower bushes for you to stand in ;)

Intimate DIY wedding in Dorset // Adam + Angie

Intimate DIY wedding in Dorset // Adam + Angie

Can I get  HECK YEAH? I'm finally getting round to blogging Adam + Angie's intimate DIY filled wedding from last year!

I've known these two for years and used to share a sweet flat with Angie so saw their relationship blossom from it's very beginnings. To see these guys tie the knot was an amazing and heartfelt experience.

Adam + Angie got married in Christchurch, Dorset in what was once a little cricket pavilion on the Christchurch Green. The decoration in the pavilion was kept sweet and simple with some bunting, a few bunches of flowers for the chairs along with a hand made willow arch for the couple to say their vows under. There'd been a lot of DIY involved in the day with handing lanterns, making signs and creating the photo booth, the stationary and table names (Adam's a pretty talented illustrator by the way) and everything suited them down to a tee.

Bridal prep started nice and early and although the rain was descending, spirits were high! We travelled to the ceremony (umbrellas held high) for the important vow bit where many a happy tear was shed. After the ceremony, there was drinks on the veranda of the pavilion (particularly useful when the weather is a bit unpredictable) and the rain stopped just enough for us to go for a little wander down towards Christchurch Quay for a few snaps whilst the guests made their way to West Parley Memorial Hall ready for a feast of afternoon tea.

The rest of the afternoon wound down with speeches, plenty of giant Jenga and pizza to fuel everyone for some dancing!

Clanger Wood Family Shoot // Brendon + Heidi, Milly + Vi

Clanger Wood Family Shoot // Brendon + Heidi, Milly + Vi

This weekend I had the joy of meeting up with this sweet family again for Brendon and Heidi's wedding! The weather behaved as best it could (from a forecast of rain all day, to mostly sunshine instead with a crazy downpour of hail and thunder in the evening when we were all safely tucked inside), I'd say we did pretty well!

The last time we met up we went to a perfect Spring stroll in Clanger Wood in Westbury.  It feels so funny thinking about Spring at the moment, when everything was coming out of hibernation and the flowers were blooming to right now when we're on the cusp on autumn and the leaves are turning red and we're all getting ready to curl up with blankets again for Winter!

The pre-shoot, or family shoot was such a great time to get to know these guys a bit better and hang out with their family. We had a little play in the bluebells whilst Heidi and Brendon filled me in on the plans for the big day, Milly was an excellent camera assistant and Vi, Vi munched happily on rice crackers! All in all it was pretty awesome. Here's some of my favourites - and if you keep an eye on the Facebook page: I'll be popping out a sneak from the wedding in the next day or so :)

Winkworth Farm Wedding - Wiltshire // Abeer and Alex

Winkworth Farm Wedding - Cotswolds // Abeer and Alex

Abeer and Alex got married in the South Cotswold's venue of Winkworth Farm. The wedding, an amazing mix of Iraqi, Persian and English cultures made for an epic party with all the dancing, limbo-ing and singing along to the band through the night! It's a great example of a late summer wedding, when the light turns that little bit more golden when we're heading towards but not quite at autumn.

I arrived at the on-site cottage to capture some of the preparations with Abeer and her bride's squad and managed to see some of the last minute decorations and favours being arranged in the Barn as well! There was bunting and favours of home made jam, with beautiful boxes with a couple of chocolates in. The blackboard seating plan had a great 'A' made of photos of the couple (made by the bride's brother) and then the tables were dotted with small bunches of wild flower in bottle vases giving great pops of colour.

The ceremony was held outside as the sun was shining, and the day overall was a super relaxed affair full of their nearest and dearest, eating delicious food (There was a whole lamb cooked over hot coals outside, chicken, salads and flat breads along with a 5 tier naked cake for dessert) playing outdoor games (the limbo pole was a hit), drinking and dancing the night away!

The day really did feel full of colour, culture and laughter and seemed to reflect the couples' loves dow to a tee. Here's a collection of some of my favourites from the day!

Snuff Mills Autumn Pre-Shoot // Bilitis + Simon

Snuff Mills Autumn Pre-Shoot // Bilitis + Simon

Bilitis and Simon are getting married tomorrow!! I know there's been a whole tonne of planning. re-planning, DIY-ing and detail that's gone into this one so I'm mega excited to see how everything (and everyone) looks on the big day!!

These guys showed me an ace little walking spot not far form my home in Bristol on a perfect autumn day last year. The leaves were crisp and the sun was shining making the yellows and oranges come to life!

Big props go out to these two who were up for a bit of clambering around in the woodland <3 ONE MORE SLEEP!

Horniman Bandstand Wedding // Eve + Dave

Ahhhhhhhh - THIS WEDDING!! <3

This wedding was the absolute bomb and set the bar high for hand made bespoke dresses forever-more!!

ve and Dave got ready together at their home in South London and had a first look in their garden to reveal their outfits to each other before jumping in a taxi to their ceremony at The Horniman Museum's Bandstand....

Exeter Park Pre-Shoot // Naomi + Chris

Exeter Park Pre-Shoot // Naomi + Chris

It's Friday everyone - which means you made it through the sweet 4 day week back to the weekend! Tomorrow is the turn of Naomi and Chris to get married and I can't believe how quickly the last 4/5 months have gone since I last met up with them in Exeter. Chris went to uni in Exeter, so it was a great idea to re-visit his old haunts and show us some of the sights in the Spring sunshine!

We started with a coffee and a chat about the plans for the big day (and Naomi sneaked me some info about the all important dress), then we wondered from there to find some Spring flowers and pretty corners of the park to get some snaps!

Victoria Park Pre-shoot with pugs!! // Meg + Theo

Victoria Park Pre-shoot with pugs!! // Meg + Theo

Happy Bank Holiday Monday!!!

There's been a bit of a radio silence on the blog these past weeks as I've been in full on head down mode and I took a wee screen break for a few days to spend some time with my long suffering husband! But back in force and with SO many images ready to set your peepers on there's no time like the present to show you Meg and Theo's pre-shoot.

It was quite some time ago that we met up now (feels like a world away!) last year in Spring when we went for a walk with their two pugs in Victoria Park in Bath. I can't wait to see these guys again for their wedding today and just know that this one is going to be awesome!

The Moonraker Pre-Shoot // Steph and Stu

The Moonraker Pre-Shoot // Steph and Stu

I feel like I've been waiting and looking forward to this one for a long time, but at the same time I can't believe it's been over a year since I met Steph and Stu! I was recommended to Steph and Stu by a the sister of a good friend of mine (whose wedding I shot in 2015 , Dany + Chris - which you can see here). This pair are welcoming and warm and when we met up for a drink at a local pub, it felt like I'd known them for years!

We held the pre-shoot at their wedding venue and was such a good chance to have a catch up with what'd been going on with them lately and how the plans were getting under way for the big day! The time of year was so perfect, with the gardens surrounding the building in full bloom. In case you still didn't know. FLOWERS - I LOVE FLOWERS. Literally can't get enough of them <3

So here's my favourites of these two beauties in amongst the flowers!

A Back Garden Festival Wedding - Somerset // Anna + Simon

A Back Garden Festival Wedding - Somerset // Anna + Simon

Anna and Simon's back-garden wedding in Somerset had pom poms, streamers and festoon lighting hanging from the trees, a dress up station armed with costumes and lots of glitter, flowers everywhere, their adorable dog, a beautiful table set up with wedding pictures of previous generations' weddings and of loved ones who couldn't be there, outdoor games, glitter, human pyramids, ceilidh, a VW van cake complete with bride, groom and dog figures hanging out the windows, Anna's own brother's band, glitter and more dancing.  It really was a feast for the eyes and is great inspiration for DIY festival wedding details!

Leigh Woods Pre-Shoot // Faye + Mark

Leigh Woods Pre-Shoot // Faye + Mark

So tonight's special broadcast is coming to you from...... Wembury, near Plymouth! I've spent the day getting all my kit bits ready and drove down so I'm all ready for the early start tomorrow for Faye + Mark's wedding!

The last time we met up was in Leigh Woods in the autumn, so their shoot is filled with all the lovely autumnal colours and reminds me why it's my favourite season!

It's a little stormy where I am tonight and I'm tucked up cosy in the sweetest Airbnb, but even the sun is shining where you are tonight, get snuggled up (You can never have too much hot chocolate right?) and get those autumn feels! Super excited to see these beauts again in the morning <3

Ashton Court Pre-Shoot // Charlie + Alex

Ashton Court Pre-Shoot // Charlie + Alex

On Saturday I had the pleasure of capturing Charlie and Alex's wedding day! The run up to the big day was one peppered with weather checks, as it looked like it was going to be just a touch more rainy than sunny and whilst I'm never one to shy away from donning my rain coat and welly boots - when you know it's a marquee wedding you always hope for at least a bit of sunshine at some point! The weather held up and I'm sure we all collectively let out a sigh of relief!  You can see the wedding sneak over on the Facebook page here : https://www.facebook.com/NaomiJanePhotos/posts/764429403729123

I thought I'd show you all a few more from Charlie and Alex's pre-shoot at Ashton Court to keep you going until the main wedding gallery is ready! We met up on Bristol's famous Clifton Suspension Bridge and went from there for a wander in the Spring sun heading over towards Ashton Court, with me coaxing Charlie and Alex into as many blossom trees or bushes as possible! I have to say they were very sporting and really trusted me whether I was suggesting standing as far back into blossom as they could, clambering over fallen trees or even laying down in the grass with Spring flowers popping up around them! I think that shows just what kind of a couple these guys are - they're really up for anything, they've got a great sense of humour and we had a great time getting to know each other. When it came to shooting the wedding day this meant that I was just another friendly face rather than a looming presence with a camera and really meant I could shoot the day as an experience and not as a stranger on the sidelines. It's a huge honour to be let into someone's big day and trusted to do your thing, and it was no exception with Charlie and Alex! Anyway - I'm off topic - so back to the pre-shoot - feeling those Spring vibes!

Keep your eyes peeled for the main wedding blog a little later in summer - you won't be disappointed - it was a beaut of a wedding!

Notley Abbey Wedding // Kerry + Nick

Notley Abbey Wedding // Kerry + Nick

Nick and Kerry are two of the warmest and down to earth people I've ever met. Having been recommended to them by a friend who saw me in action at another wedding last year, I thought we would be on a similar wave length, but these two welcomed me with open arms (quite literally!! Within seconds of meeting Nick I was bear hugged!) into their big day.

Eastwood Farm Nature Reserve Pre-shoot - Bristol // Harriet + Tom

Eastwood Farm Nature Reserve Pre-shoot - Bristol // Harriet + Tom

Harriet + Tom are getting hitched tomorrow! So the Friday routine is settling in and I'm making sure all my kit is ready to go and batteries are charged.

We last met at Eastwood Farm Nature Reserve (Where Beeses Tea Gardens are nestled)  at the beginning of May and went for a walk in the sunshine. Here's a few from the shoot! Really excited to catch up with this pair of beauties tomorrow for the big day!

Easton Park Pre-shoot // Jodie + Simon

Easton Park Pre-shoot // Jodie + Simon

Today I'm packing up my kit, my van and myself to head down to beautiful Cornwall to get ready for the wedding of Jodie and Simon!! Music-loving, festival-going, partial to a bit of surf and skateboarding, this pair know how to party so this is definitely one I've been looking forward to for a while now! We caught up a little while ago to chat over plans as it had been nearly a year since we did their pre-shoot!! Crazy how time flies!

Here's some of my favourites from our walk round Easton Park, who knew there was a disused pool there, a river and an abundance of open fieldy goodness?! I can't wait to see these two all dressed up and ready for their big day!!

Stockhill Woods Pre-Shoot // Rose + Matt Get Married Tomorrow!

Stockhill Woods Pre-Shoot // Rose + Matt Get Married Tomorrow!

Hey - how is everybody? Everyone survive the heatwave of 2017? I know I was definitely a little warmer than comfortable this week (being of natural red head descent, I swear I feel it amplified more than the average human!) It was lovely to get some Vitamin D on my skin though!

This pre-shoot is a favourite - you know in your heart when two people are just going to be awesome? Well - these guys - are two of the loveliest human beings. We met up in one of their favourites spots Stockhill Woods in Somerset to go for a bit of a ramble in the woods, hunting for some soft mossy spots and bits of shade in between the sunshine, and generally had a sweet morning. It was one of those moments when I had to take stock and really appreciate that the office I work in (other than my desk and computer at home) takes on all shapes and sizes and is bloody lovely.

So - Rose + Matt are getting married tomorrow, so I wanted to share these images with you. I know this one is going to be epic - so I'll make sure you get some sneak goodness over on the Facebook page next week!

Bournemouth Beach Pre-Shoot // Kerry + Tom - 1 Day To Go!!

Bournemouth Beach Pre-Shoot // Kerry + Tom - 1 Day To Go!!

**KLAXON SOUND**

It's just one little day left now until Kerry and Tom get married in Bristol at one of my favourite places in the city! So, just in case you're in a hot office and you want to remember some of those cooler days of Spring - here's some of my favourites from the pre-shoot which was a misty, atmospheric affair down at Durley Chine in Bournemouth. Kerry and Tom had visions of re-visiting their university stomping ground and seeing the sun sparkle on the sea..... Alas - it was not in our favour, but I still really love how these turned out and reminds me what it was like in the old home town when the sea mist came in!
