Engagement Shoot

Lauren + Lee - Part 1: A sunny autumn pre-shoot

Lauren + Lee - Part 1: A sunny autumn pre-shoot

Hanging out with Lauren and Lee is a bit like a giant hug. This pair pretty much never stop laughing, so our little pre-shoot was a joy to behold.

We met up for a tasty breakfast, and a bit of a planning meeting - for What Was To Come... which was all very Secret and Exciting. But we'll get to that - as this is part 1 of a stupendous triptych of posts. Yep, we have that much ground to cover, and I promise you it's all amazing. Then we pottered around the Bristol Museum (where else are you going to get dinosaurs in your shoot?!) and afterwards found a little sunny spot in a nearby park. This has all the snuggles, all the laughs and a dinosaur - what more could you need?

Looking back at this shoot fills me with the warm feeling you get from the autumn sunshine that we played in, and from those head thrown back laughing moments, because there have been more than a few of those with these guys in the last couple of months.

Part 1: The pre-shoot -

Elliot + Sophie's Bath Eshoot - LESS THAN 2 WEEKS GUYS

Sophie, Elliot and I go back, long enough now that I feel like I can say way back. Way back when we were all slogging hard in the trenches (of Debenhams life) and I feel like we've shared a lot.

When you see someone everyday for working life, you feel their ups, their downs and that's why I can really share in their joy of getting married (IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS)!!

I'm a bit excited...

We went for a jaunt down along the river near Bath (the River Avon for those that might want to know facts and stuff), and they were both very sporting when I spotted the best field to go and have a  traipse in!! There were splinters (not from the field) and near slip overs (me) and also tears (again me with the only ever hayfever reaction I've had in life). But there was also a lot of love. This pair are shy, but it doesn't always need to be the big grand gestures to see just how ace they are together <3

Also - they fed me dinner (we went for sneaky post shoot pub visit) - this is a sure way to my heart :) Thanks guys!

Lucy + Adi's Thornbury Castle Engagement Shoot

It took a little organising to get a good date for Lucy and Adi's engagement shoot. Now I had something in mind (I think Lucy did too) and this time it didn't involve rainy weather, which can be tricky in the British autumn season. After a few emails we figured out a place that could work whatever the weather (but fingers crossed it would be lovely) and after a last minute change of weekend I can safely say I think we had the best day for it!

I met up with Lucy and Adi at Thornbury Castle near Bristol in South Gloucestershire, which has beautiful grounds but worst case scenario had a very lovely inside as well. The weather could not have been more beautiful if it tried. The light was, soft and golden and as I got closer to the castle everything started to get just a little misty. Perfect :)

Jen + Matt - Engagement Shoot

Wow, it has been a little while since I last posted, it's been a crazy few months I can tell you. I got married, I've got a new job, and we're in the process of getting our first house. Mental. I've had to do a lot of things recently that has made me feel more and more like the grown up I never thought I had in me....

This is the first of my update posts - and its a cracker to start with. Jen and Matt, and their exuberant little dog Geoff have nestled nicely in to my life after I met Jen and her mum at my current day job. I showed them a few of my photos we realised we already had more in common that we first thought......I had been the photographer at Jen's brother's wedding! (see it here). It wasn't too long after our first meeting that we shared a few emails and I headed down to Somerset on what turned out to be a perfect sunny early autumn day. Lush.

We had a little chat with Glen and I sharing some of the stories from our own wedding (if you fancy a peek have a gander here) and I must say, after the back and forth of email it was so nice to finally meet the important boys in Jen's life :) I'm so excited about their big day in March!

We then headed out to some fields with Geoff for a Sunday walk (and had cake and tea afterwards! Love a good bit of post stroll cake - Jen you spoiled us!!)

Here's a glimpse of that lovely Sunday to warm you up on this chilly Thursday... Ahhhh I can nearly feel the sun on my skin......
